Women in the World Texas Event Coming to SA on Oct. 22


McCombs Empire Theater to Host Huge Female-Focused Event

Imagine having the opportunity to see and hear Gloria Steinem, Eva Longoria, Karen Hughes, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison and a number of other accomplished, celebrated women LIVE in one location. That’s exactly the opportunity that’s coming on Oct. 22 when the Women in the World Texas event makes a stop in San Antonio at the Charline McCombs Empire Theater, 226 N. St. Mary’s St.

Women in the World is a movement dedicated to advancing women and girls through stories and solutions. The event, started by Tina Brown in 2010, brings together extraordinary women leaders and advocates from around the world. The San Antonio event on Oct. 22 will feature:

  • Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe from Uganda
  • Filmmaker Deeyah Khan
  • Mexican journalist Lydia Cacho
  • Latina activist Rosie Castro (with her son, Congressman Joaquin Castro)
  • Author and journalist Marie Brenner
  • Art patron and activist Aaronetta Pierce
  • San Antonio Mayor Ivy Taylor, City Manager Sheryl Scully and more!
