When Chef FredAnthony Garza expanded Vegeria from its original home on north Broadway to his new location on Nogalitos, just south of downtown, one of the things he most wanted to focus on was education, teaching residents that traditional Mexican dishes can be authentic, delicious AND healthy.
Residents and lovers of Garza’s Vegeria vegan fare can learn how to mimic his tasty dishes at one of three winter cooking classes. The first class is free, Garza said, so that local residents in the neighborhood surrounding his Nogalitos restaurant can learn to make healthier traditional dishes.
