At Natural Awakenings, we’re big proponents of “active living,” which is why we encourage you to participate in the FitCitySA Fitness Challenge. San Antonio has made great strides moving from “fat” to “fit,” but we can all still eat a little better and exercise a little more. Launched by the Mayor’s Fitness Council, the fitness challenge is designed to get you and your family healthier through physical activity.
The program’s cornerstone is a free online activity tracker that allows you to create a profile and track your physical activity. The goal is for participants to track at least 150 minutes of physical activity each week. Physical activity can include group sport activities, walking the dog, training for a marathon, or biking along one of San Antonio’s new paved hike and bike paths. The fitness challenge is a great way to challenge yourself and family and friends to be more active.
