For a tense week in July it looked like the popular Sunday farmers market at The Rim would have to move to a different location. The market, part of the group of Hill Country Farmers Markets, has been at The Rim for most of the past year, most recently in the parking lot of the Palladium IMAX theater.
The Palladium location was temporary, and talks with property owners at The Rim didn’t produce a new location. In mid July the market announced its move on Sundays to The Legacy, where the Hill Country group holds its Saturday market. A week later, plans had changed and the market announced its new Sunday location at The Rim near T.G.I.F. Fridays restaurant. Hopefully, this new location will be a more stable home for The Rim’s Sunday market.
The Hill Country Farmers Market currently hosts five markets in San Antonio: Sundays at The Rim, Saturdays at The Legacy (281 & 1604) and in Leon Springs, Fridays at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church on Huebner, and their newest market on Mondays at Del Fuegos Mexican Restaurant, on the 1604 access road between Huebner and Blanco. All markets are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
