Sinkin EcoCentro Offers Free Summer Info Sessions

The William R. Sinkin EcoCentro building on the San Antonio College campus is little more than a year old, and already it has proven itself to be a popular destination for community eco-education. During August, EcoCentro is hosting free community classes on a number of green-focused topics.

Here are the free classes available this month:

Tree Care – Saturday, Aug. 8, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Learn all you need to know to keep your trees healthy and looking their best.

Why Organic? – Wednesday Aug. 12, 6:30-8 p.m. Justin Duncan, sustainable agricultural specialist at the National Center for Appropriate Technology, shares the benefits of organic food, soil and pest control.

All About GMOs – Saturday, Aug. 15, 3-5 p.m. Presented by the Weston A. Price Foundation, learn about GMOs from food evangelist Diane Baines.

Fall Gardening – Saturday, Aug. 22, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Learn from Anna Vogel, certified master gardener, how to prepare your fall garden while conserving water.
