More Than Three Miles of City Streets Closed for People-Powered FUN
Siclovia returns to its familiar Broadway roadways on Sunday, Sept. 27, providing thousands of local residents the opportunity to “play in the streets.” The bi-annual celebration of human-powered transportation and creativity will again stretch more than three miles, reaching all the way to Alamo Plaza and include a jaunt down McCullough and Nolan streets to Dignowity and Lockwood parks.
During the five-hour event, major city streets will be closed to motor vehicles, turning the roadways into places for people to run, ride bikes, skate, skip and move their bodies in other creative ways, promoting physical activity and fun. Participating roadways close to motor vehicles at 10 a.m. and remain car-free until 3 p.m.
Along the Siclovia route, participants can stop at Reclovias, numerous stopping points where participants find free activities like yoga, Zumba and other group and individual active and fun options.
Don’t Forget the Siclovia Downtown SA 5K
For added Siclovia fun, participate in the Downtown SA 5K, which starts at 8 a.m. on Sept. 27 in Alamo Plaza. The race will start and finish in Alamo Plaza and utilize the Siclovia route. Runners and walkers are invited to participate.
