San Antonio Book Festival Celebrates 5th Year on April 8

Readers and writers unite! April 8 is the day to celebrate ideas, books, libraries and literary culture at the San Antonio Book Festival. The San Antonio Public Library Foundation started the festival in April 2013, and it has grown to feature more than 90 national, regional, local and emerging authors.

More than 10,000 visitors are expected to attend this all-day event held at the Central Library and the Southwest School of Art. Visitors will enjoy author presentations that will allow book lovers of all types to get up close and personal with their favorite writers. Participants of all ages also will enjoy book sales and signings, family activities (including separate sites for teens and children) and exhibitor booths. The large Exhibitor Tent will act as a literary marketplace for booksellers, publishers and literacy organizations.

The San Antonio Public Library Foundation is a nonprofit institution and is able to host the Book Festival with help from The City of San Antonio, foundations, corporations and private donations.
