BUTTERFLY RUN 5K – SUPPORTS THE YOUNG WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

Participation in the Butterfly Run 5K supports SAISD’s Young Women’s Leadership Academy, one of the most acclaimed public school environments in Texas.

 

 

The all-girl charter school offers accepted students an advanced college preparatory school environment that is designed to boost academic performance and launch students into university programs.

The Butterfly Run takes place at the San Antonio Botanical Garden, 555 Funston Pl., on Sunday, Nov. 8, and begins at 8 a.m. For more information, visit www.butterflyrunsa.org.

2015 HEALTH & THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT CONFERENCE

Spend a day immersed in all the ways we can improve San Antonio’s build environment – our transportation system, roadways and sidewalks, our parks and trailways, and much more. National experts on making cities more livable, walkable, and healthier will be part of the 2015 Health & the Built Environment Conference to share their ideas and insights for making improvements in San Antonio. The conference is hosted by the City of San Antonio’s Metropolitan Health District.

The 2015 Health & the Built Environment Conference takes place Friday, Nov. 13, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, 200 E. Market St. in downtown San Antonio. SOLAR FEST AT ROOSEVELT PARK

Build San Antonio Green (now teamed with Solar San Antonio) hosts the 2015 Solar Fest on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Roosevelt Park. Learn about all things solar in the greater San Antonio area and enjoy exhibitors, music, food and educational fun for the entire family. Solar Fest 2015 begins at 12 p.m. on Nov. 14 and continues until 5 p.m. at Roosevelt Park, 331 Roosevelt Ave.
