Leon Valley Hosts 25th Annual Earthwise Living Day March 1

A quarter century is a long time to host a “green” event in San Antonio, but Leon Valley has done just that. The community is celebrating its 25th Annual Earthwise Living Day event on Saturday, March 1, at the Leon Valley Community & Conference Center Complex. The Earthwise event begins at 9 a.m. and continues until 2 p.m. Admission is free, and the event will feature more than 40 earth-friendly exhibitors.

The event’s purpose is to help local residents develop “a sustainable way of life in harmony with the natural surroundings.” Visitors will enjoy recycled and hand-crafted items, green home and energy efficient products, native plants and tree adoptions (while supplies last), food vendors, a scavenger hunt and live music. The event will also include a recycling drop-off for electronics, computers, cell phones, wine corks and more. The Leon Valley Community & Conference Center Complex is located at 6427 Evers Road, between 410 West and Huebner Road.
