Community and backyard gardeners are invited to participate in a Green Spaces Alliance Vermiculture and Composting Work(ing)shop on Saturday, June 18. This hands-on class is designed to help the community or home gardener learn techniques for starting a vermicomposting project and gain a better understanding of the various types of composting systems.
Participants will learn about trench composting, sheet mulching and three bin systems, and EcoCentro garden experts will share their knowledge of vermicomposting and other easy composting methods. Workshop attendees will be given a series of hands-on, informative lessons that will give them a better of idea of what type of composting system will help them to create a thriving garden.
The workshop will be held at the EcoCentro Garden, 1802 N. Main Ave., from 9-11 a.m. The event is free, but registration is required. Visit www.greensatx.org for more information or to register for the workshop.
