The July heat doesn’t slow down hard-core runners in San Antonio, and the July lineup for iRun Texas is proof of that. First their Split Second Productions will help put on San Antonio’s July 4 5K Firecracker Fun Run at the Woodlawn Lake Island House. Then a day later they’ll kick off a three-day “grand opening” of their new location at Bitters and 1604. And then a week after that they’ll host the annual iRun Too Hot to Handle 5K/15K event at Boerne City Lake

The celebration of iRun’s second San Antonio store is an event worthy of a three-day party. The official opening kicks off at noon on July 5 with a ribbon-cutting event that will include fitness demos and special guests. July 6 there will be more demos and special guests and an all-day Newton Video Gait Analysis opportunity for runners. Then on July 7 there will be more demos and special guests

Yes, a grand opening event is fun, but it’s not as fun to hard-core runners as a mid-July early morning 5K or 15K run. That’s why the toughest, most heatacclimated runners in the area will all be at Boerne City Lake on July 14 for iRun’s Too Hot to Handle 5K/15K event. It’s an event guaranteed to be… well, HOT! Last year more than 300 completed the 5K and more than 200 completed the 15K event.
