Preparing a vegan option for a holiday linked historically with turkey meat can be a daunting task. The vegetarian and vegan experts at Green Vegetarian are hosting a Thanksgiving vegan cooking class on Nov. 19 to help take the stress out of satisfying vegan family members and friends.
Green Chef Mike Behrend will prepare recipes that can be made vegetarian or vegan, and class participants will be treated to a five-course vegan meal. The evening menu includes green bean casserole, apple sausage stuffing, cranberry salad, tofu turkey and pumpkin pie.
The class will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Nov.19 at the Culinary Institute of America’s cooking class kitchen, 312 Pearl Pkwy, 2nd floor. Seating is limited; cost is $25 per person, prepaid. Reserve your spot online at www.greensanantonio.com.
