First-Ever “Purple Run” on Oct. 26: Helps Victims of Domestic Violence

5K Run/Walk Supports Battered Women and Children’s Shelter

One in four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime. You can take a stand against domestic violence and provide support for local agencies helping victims of domestic violence by participating in San Antonio’s first-ever Purple Run on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Eilan Hotel, 17101 La Cantera Pkwy.

Family Violence Prevention Services, which supports the Battered Woman and Children’s Shelter of Bexar County, is the event’s beneficiary. The 5K Run/Walk event begins at 8 a.m.

The Battered Women and Children’s Shelter of Bexar County has worked for 37 years to break the cycle of family violence by providing life-saving resources to victims that enable them to rebuild their lives and return to self-sufficiency.
