Fiesta Texas Hosts Purple Run to Raise Awareness About Domestic Violence on Oct. 14

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness month. Did you know that one in four females will be affected by domestic violence in their lifetime, and that 74 percent of Texans have experienced some form of domestic violence or have a friend or family member who has?

Not only that, but Bexar County has the highest rate of domestic violence per capita in Texas, along with one of the highest in the nation.

To honor those victims, survivors and all those who have lost lives to domestic violence, Fiesta Texas will host The Purple Run on Saturday, Oct. 14. The event is designed for the whole family to run, walk or roll—even the family dog can get involved by wearing an event bandana. Participants will receive 50 percent off admission to Fiesta Texas after the run, or any day after the event.

Fiesta Texas is located at 17000 IH-10 West. For more information about The Purple Run, visit www.thepurplerun.org.
