Enjoy Fun Celebrating the Sun at Solar Fest 2016 on Nov. 5

Free off-the-grid fun for the whole family is back with Solar Fest 2016. Organized by Build San Antonio Green, this annual fun and informative event serves as San Antonio’s only one-stop information center for everything related to solar energy.

The festival starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Roosevelt Park and is the perfect event for anyone who has questions about solar energy and energy-efficient home improvements, or anyone who wants to learn more about renewable energy, sustainability and green homebuilding options.

Solar Fest will feature many energy efficient programs, as well as the newly launched Solar Host Program. There will be a free tree giveaway by CPS Energy and the Alamo Forest Partnership, a B-Cycle Station where the family can rent bikes for a ride down San Antonio River Mission Reach Trail, a variety of vendors, and an Energy Village where guests learn what the utility, home and community of the future can look like. The event will also include food truck fare, live bands, cool drinks and a Kids’ Zone.

Roosevelt Park is located at 331 Roosevelt Ave. For more information about the event, visit www.buildsagreen.org.
