Emotional issues from childhood, including trauma, stress, fear, anxiety and anger, can create energetic imbalances that have profound effects on health and well-being. Left unchecked, unpleasant emotions eventually move into the physical body as symptoms of a disease or illness. Practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine are trained to identify and address these imbalances in the energetic body before they became physical illness. You may be surprised to learn that essential oils can be used to help release these unpleasant feelings before they have a chance to create physical discord.
Essential oils are vibrational medicine. Illness, emotions and organ systems resonate at different frequencies; essential oils also resonate at different frequencies. Many essential oils have higher frequencies than the human body, including the brain. Consistent use of essential oils can open the door to emotional and inner energetic healing, because they raise the body’s overall frequency. This is important because we can’t do heavy emotional work until our body is healthy enough to withstand it. Essential oils can accelerate, by a factor of two or three, the process of emotional healing. The high vibration of the oils helps support the physical and energetic body with healing and release of emotional issues.
All essential oils offer emotional support, each with a specific attribute. Oils can be added to your daily routine to help manage stress and emotional health.
The citrus oils are at the top of the list for daily use. Lemon oil helps rebuild the self-image for someone who has suffered a trauma where self-identity has been damaged. It calms fear and insecurities and elicits feelings of joy and happiness. Bergamot relieves feelings of despair, selfjudgement and low self-acceptance and is a wonderful antidepressant. It helps those in need of self-worth and self-love.
Orange helps to connect to your inner child, reignites feelings of hope, optimism and abundance. It supports positive moods, restores physical energy and aids in transition. Lime helps to cleanse and dislodge feelings of grief, sadness, trauma and depression that block the heart center. It also helps you examine inner motives, intentions and fills you with a zest for life. Grapefruit helps support healthy integrity and honor with body image. It invites you to learn to listen to the body’s subtle messages.
There are a few other great oils to add for emotional wellbeing, including geranium, which is especially good for opening and restoring a heart that has been injured or traumatized. It is known as an emotional healer and helps restore love and trust. Basil offers strength and renewal, helping people who feel overwhelmed or have a hard time coping with life’s stressors. It is also an excellent oil for nervousness, anxiety and depression and supports healthy adrenal function. Ginger is an empowering oil that persuades individuals to fully participate in life by taking responsibility for their life circumstances. It helps users feel their creative force and align with their destiny.
Of course, not all essential oils are created at the same level of quality. Using high-quality essential oils graded for internal use is important if you are looking for therapeutic results.
