In 1970, 20 million Americans joined together to promote environmental reform, and Earth Day was born. Now countries all over the world celebrate this special day that honors our precious planet. This year you can join the celebration by participating in an Earth Day Wildflower Hike on April 23 hosted by the San Antonio River Authority.
The hike invites you to stroll along the San Antonio River on a guided tour that will help you learn about native wildflower species, citizen science programs and ecosystem restoration. A plant-your-own wildflower activity is included.
The hike begins at 9 a.m. at Acequia Park, 8500 Mission Pkwy., on Saturday, April 23. Registration is suggested. Contact Kayla Gasker at 210-302-3259 or email email@example.com. For more information, visit www.sara-tx.org.
