Improving the quality of education in our area starts with conversations. That’s why The DoSeum is hosting a special Outside the Lunchbox Luncheon on Friday, Sept. 23. The annual luncheon hopes to spark conversation about ways to improve the quality of education in San Antonio and support community development and growth.
Author Jessica Lahey returns to the event this year to speak on her New York Times bestselling book, The Gift of Failure: How the Best Parents Learn to Let Go so Their Children Can Succeed. Lahey will discuss the importance of letting children experience disappointments and frustration in order to learn problem-solving skills and resiliency.
The Outside the Lunchbox Luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. in the The Rosenberg Skyroom at the University of the Incarnate Word. To reserve a table, contact Miki Hodgson at mhodgson@ thedoseum.org or call 210-212- 4453. The DoSeum is San Antonio’s museum just for kids and strives to grow minds, connect families and transform communities through premier educational resources.
