For anyone who has ever wanted to start a neighborhood gardening project, make plans to join the “How to Start a Community Garden” workshop, which takes place Saturday, Aug. 27. The four-hour workshop will teach you all you need to know to start a new gardening project in your neighborhood.
Sponsored by Green Spaces Alliance of South Texas, topics covered will include:
- Organizing your community
- Site selection and design
- Overview of garden components
- Resources for locally appropriate gardening techniques
- Garden maintenance
Green Spaces Alliance is a non-profit environmental organization that promotes sustaining the natural environment and enhancing urban spaces through land conservation, community engagement and education.
