October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Stone Oak community invites everyone to raise funds for breast cancer research by participating in the Paint the Parkway Pink 5K Run and Family Walk on Oct. 19.
Race entry fees include a donation to Women in Medicine and Law for the Cure research and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure research grant.
Participants should meet at the North Central Baptist Hospital parking lot from 7-8:30 a.m. for registration, and the race begins at 8 a.m. at Reagan High School. All participants receive a free T-shirt and awards will be given to the top three finishers in each age group.
A post-race health fair will highlight local health-conscious businesses and activities such as face painting, dancing, bouncy houses and games will be available throughout the morning. Strollers and pets are welcome!
