Alamo Boxer Rescue’s largest fundraising event returns for another day of fun and festive racing, this year at Woodlawn Lake Park on Sunday, Oct. 29. Both 3K and 5K distances are available for participants who would like to run or walk, with or without furry companions.
Prizes are awarded to top finishers in each division, and the first 200 who register will receive a free pair of boxer shorts; the first 500 receive an event T-shirt. Plus, all runners can enjoy free tacos. The event will feature a doggy costume contest, and all dogs will be able to go trick-or-treating at vendors’ booths, win prizes, get a Halloween picture made and sample refreshments with their human friends. All proceeds go to help provide medical and boarding costs to dogs in need.
Alamo Boxer Rescue is the local chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a non-profit organization made up entirely of volunteers who are dedicated to removing dogs from bad situations and placing them into loving permanent homes. Woodlawn Lake Park is located at 1103 Cincinnati Ave. For more information and to register for the event, visit www.boxerboogiefun.com.
