Alamo Boxer Rescue’s largest fundraising event is back for its sixth year, offering a day of fun and festive racing, this year at Pickrell Park in Schertz on Sunday, Oct. 30. Both 3K and 5K distances are available for participants who want to run or walk, with or without a furry, four-legged companion.
The event begins with a doggy costume contest, with awards going to best overall costume, most frightful costume, best owner/dog coordinated outfit and best dressed Boxer. The runs begin after the costume event, and awards will be given to the top finishers in each division.
The first 200 registrants will receive a pair of boxer shorts and will be eligible for the grand prize drawing of his and her 26-inch mountain bikes (must be present to win). The first 500 registrants will receive an event T-shirt. There will also be a free photo booth where participants and their dogs will receive a 4×6 photo to take home. All proceeds go to help provide medical and boarding costs to dogs in need.
