Attention Young Photographers!

Join the New Season of the Picture Your World Youth Photography Project

Know a young person between ages 8 and 18 who enjoys photography, particularly nature photography? He or she might enjoy the new season of the Picture Your World Youth Photography Project, sponsored by the Green Spaces Alliance. The season consists of a monthly series of workshops that continue through April 12.

The workshops teach photographic composition and technique through hands-on demonstration and constructive critique. During each workshop, participants produce a visual memory of their day and begin a creative portfolio while enjoying the wonders of the area’s natural environment.

Each workshop takes place in a different outdoor setting. The next workshop on Oct. 19, for example, takes place at Warbler Woods, a private property in Cibolo that is managed as a bird and wildlife refuge and preserve. The workshops are led by Carra Garza, a professional photographer and master naturalist. Participants bring their own digital camera, or one will be provided for them. All workshops take place on a Sunday between 1-4:30 p.m.
