Art in the Dark Returns on June 23: Annual Event Benefits San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind & Vision Impaired

Art in the Dark, San Antonio’s unique art experience benefiting the San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind and Vision Impaired, celebrates its sixth year on Thursday, June 23. This year the event takes place at the newly renovated La Quinta Inn & Suites Riverwalk Hotel and will offer a unique evening celebrating “The Touch,” “The Sense” and “The Feel” of art.

Guests will enjoy food and beverages from local restaurants while interacting with artwork donated by some of San Antonio’s finest potters, sculptors and jewelry designers. There will also be “blind” bidding on draped works of art, and the San Antonio Lighthouse Choir will provide entertainment.

All proceeds will benefit The Blind Children’s Education Program, which serves ages birth through 14 and offers children the opportunity to learn in a creative, supportive environment. The program includes Braille training, computer assistance technology skills, mobility training and help with daily life and everyday activities.
