March 28 Cooking Class Kicks Off Local Chapter Activities
San Antonio now has a local chapter of The Natural Epicurean Academy of Culinary Arts, based in Austin. Nicole Malesky, a graduate of the academy, recently started the local chapter and has big plans to offer community cooking classes, open houses, potlucks and private chef services. Malesky’s first community cooking class takes place Saturday, March 28, at the San Antonio Yoga Center, 11011 Shaenfield Rd.
“Cooking for Wellness: An Introduction to Healthy Cooking and Healthy Eating” will introduce participants to the five essential healing cuisines and the importance of incorporating more plants into your diet. The class begins at 10 a.m. and costs $39 per person. Plan for a hands-on experience that includes interactive demos and taste-testing.
The Natural Epicurean Academy is a plant-based, health-supportive professional chef training program that focuses on the five core modalities: macrobiotic, classical vegetarian, vegan, Ayurvedic, and raw and living foods.
