If you’re up for a challenge, San Antonio needs your help. Like most local residents, you might need to exercise more, eat a bit better and shed a few pounds. The Mayor’s Fitness Council, FitcitySA.com, H-E-B and the YMCA of Greater San Antonio have a great way to help you do just that, by encouraging you to participate in the Million Pound Challenge. The goal is for local residents to join together and lose 1 million pounds by year’s end. Mayor Julian Castro announced the challenge on March 4.
Participation is easy and fun! Just go to the Million Pound Challenge site at www.FitcitySA.com and create a profile and share the amount of weight you lose throughout the year. It’s a great way to set a personal weight-loss goal and track your progress throughout the year. The pounds you lose are added to the citywide million pound goal. As of mid April, the challenge had more than 2,200 participants and the total weight-loss tally was more than 85,000 pounds.
While you’re at FitcitySA.com, you’ll find amazing resources and information that will help you on your 2014 weight-loss journey.
