Readers and writers will unite to celebrate ideas, books, libraries and literary culture at the San Antonio Book Festival on Saturday, April 11. The event will be spread across three locations including the Central Library, 600 Soledad St., the Southwest School of Art, 300 Augusta St., and the Empire Theater, 224 E. Houston St. The San Antonio Public Library Foundation first presented the festival in April 2013 and has grown the celebration to feature more than 90 national, regional, local and emerging authors.
Organizers anticipate hosting more than 10,000 visitors at the free, all-day event that will feature author presentations allowing book lovers of all types to get up close and personal with their favorite writers. Visitors can also enjoy outdoor festivities including book sales and signings, learning projects and family activities. Food trucks will be on site and special tents will offer live music and recipe demonstrations by cookbook authors. The large Exhibitor Tent will act as a literary marketplace for booksellers, publishers and literacy organizations.
