Year of the Horse Returns to San Antonio’s Institute of Texan Cultures on Feb. 1
2014 ushers in the Year of the Horse, and the Institute of Texan Cultures invites San Antonio to celebrate during the 27th Annual Asian Festival on Feb. 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The celebration, which started out as a traditional family reunion for the Chinese New Year, blossomed into a unique gathering of Asian communities celebrating their cultures and traditions.
The event features everything from music and cultural performances to food, fashion and crafts. Authentic Asian food will be available from 15 vendors and offer Japanese, Thai, Korean, Philippine and Laotian cuisine.
Three separate stages will display dancers performing traditional Asian dances and musical performances, and guests will enjoy multicultural cooking demonstrations, henna painting, palm reading and craft sales including clothing, artwork, dolls, silk items and much more.
Advance tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children age 6-12. Tickets at the gate are $10 for adults and $5 for children age 6-12. Children age 5 and under.
