2018 Asian Festival Takes Place on Feb. 17 and Ushers in the Year of the Dog

San Antonio’s annual Asian Festival marks the Year of the Dog on Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Institute of Texan Cultures in downtown San Antonio. This family-friendly event extends the tradition of the Chinese New Year with music, cultural performances, food, fashion, crafts and multicultural demonstrations.

Guests will enjoy authentic Asian-American cuisines from 15 vendors, including Korean, Japanese, Thai, Filipino, Laotian and many others. There will also be Asian dance and musical performances, as well as henna painting, palm reading and craft sales from vendors offering everything from clothing and artworks to silk items and dolls.

The 2018 Asian Festival takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Institute of Texan Cultures, located at 801 E. Cesar E. Chavez Blvd. Tickets for adults ages 13 and up are $10 in advance and $12 at the gate. Children ages 6-12 are $5 in advance or at the gate; children ages 5 and under are free.
